Hannah Sutton-Adams, Ph.D., BCC is the Assistant Director for the Center for the Theology of Childhood with the Godly Play Foundation. Hannah's doctoral dissertation, "Tending the Inner Altar and Practicing Communion: Adult Christian Faith Formation after Religious Trauma," adapted Godly Play for use with adults. She also holds a certificate in Post-Traumatic Stress Studies from Bessel Van Der Kolk's Trauma Research Foundation. Additionally, Hannah is a board-certified chaplain and has experience working with individuals and families in a variety of settings, including adult and pediatric behavioral health, oncology, pediatrics intensive care, crisis, and hospice care. Hannah is passionate about teaching and sharing Godly Play in various settings and thinking creatively about its uses. She specializes in helping start Godly Play programs, clinical iterations of Godly Play, trauma-informed practices, and adapting Godly Play to meet the needs of particular communities and populations.
